Hey, Soul Sister

12th March 2011-Arrived at Sabah State Railway Station around 7am. Queued up to buy tickets for all 15 of us who are going on board of the train. The queue was quite long since there were quite a lot of people. The fee is RM4.80 per person and children under 12 is half price each.  While waiting for the departure time, we ate our breakfast at the canteen at the station. Around 7.30am we checked in at the counter and headed to the train. Went in and first impression of the train was cozy and clean. We then took our seats.

After few minutes later, the train started its ride. We enjoyed the scenery and we talked a lot. We were apparently the loudest family in the train LOL. After 2 hours and 15 minutes ride, we reached Beaufort. We decided to pay a visit to Beaufort’s tamu and purchased some local stuff.
After walking for sometime under the blazing sun, we sat down in a restaurant and had our lunch. Then, we walked around at Beaufort town for a while. About 12pm, we decided to head back to KK by charter bus since the train from Beaufort to KK will only depart at 4.35pm. Decided not to wait around, we then boarded into the bus and started our journey back to KK on the road.
We reached KK about 1.30pm and headed back home. All in all, I can say that this weekend gateway was fun. It was my first train ride in Sabah. And that is the best way to enjoy our beautiful Sabah nature. :)
