Happy New Year

31st Dec 2010-New Year 2011 is a bit different from other ordinary new year I had. On eve, my family decided to make Hinobok, which is a Kadazan food which only been made on the harvest festival season of paddy. It is basically a drink of fried paddy mixed with coconut water. Never made any Hinobok before on new year's eve, so this was the first. And I also decided to cook Tang Yuan which was also rare to be seen during New Year's Eve. If Chinese New Year, biasalah. Around 4pm, my cousins and I went out to buy some chicken wings for BBQ. Then, we headed to McD KKIA for burgers. After getting ready for the party, we had our dinner and karaoke afterwards. Just passing time to wait for the countdown. During the countdown, fireworks were ignited everywhere. Then, the kids when into the pool of water, which New Year is celebrated by playing water like crazy. 

1st Jan 2011-After had our breakfast, we gathered at Mama's house for Amazing Race/Treasure Hunt game. We were briefed shortly about the game and started the race where we were given the first clue. The first clue asked us to buy coffee and sugar. We went to a few kampung shops but most of them were closed for new year. But fortunately, we found one shop opened on new year. Then, the game went on after that. After searching the last clue, we went back to Mama's house and we got the 5th place of 6 teams. We lost, but we were having so much fun. After that, we had lunch and gambled, just to spend time with the family.
