The Cat Town

Well, Kuching is definitely one of the cities you must visit, and if you are a die hard foodie, please go to Kuching. The foods are super cheap! Most of them can be as low as RM2.50 especially for a bowl of Kolo Mee. This trip was an out-of-the-blue trip. With own budget plus I'm having my semester break, so I booked back and fort flight to Kuching. Me and my aunt went there just to accompany my uncle who was out-stationed at Kuching. Luckily during our wonderful days there, my uncle's colleague willingly bring us jalan-jalan to the famous and awesome places of Kuching. So, allow me to spare you with my daily activities at The Cat Town. :)

3rd Oct-Woke up early to catch an early morning flight to Kuching. We had the food in the flight. Tasted okay but expensive. Tight budget bah. Then, arrived Kuching after one hour plus. Took a cab to Tune Hotels downtown. Met up with uncle and went for boat ride at Waterfront. The fare was just RM0.50 per head. We rode on the boat to South City. The boat was quite wobbly but the ride was fun. The scenery was beautiful. After snapped some pictures, we headed to meet my uncle's colleague (called himself Chung). Introduced ourselves to each other. He then brought us to Satok Sunday Market. It was actually like Gaya Street Sunday Market but more or less like Tamu too. Pampered ourselves with clothes and handbags. Bought some stuffs to bring back home. On the way going back to Chung's Honda Civic, saw a new snack-Twisted Potatoes. The taste, not that nice but price quite cheap. RM1.50 each. I haven't found anything like that in Sabah yet. We then headed to an old shoplot for the famous Kolo Mee. It was superb! Then, to The Spring-largest shopping mall in Sarawak. After The Spring, went to a place (forgot the name) for ABC and Ice Kacang. And tasted another new snack called Kwang Bing. Basically, minced pork stuffed in mini pastry buns. Nice taste. When night falls, before we went for dinner at an old shop for barbecued chicken and pork, we took some pictures at the Cat Statue nearby Sarawak Plaza. That can't be missed when you are at Kuching.

4th Oct-It was a working day and uncle went to work. Left my aunt and me for Girls Day Out. Woke up quite late and we had our brunch nearby the hotel. Noticed that most of the kopitiams have Jukebox. Rarely to see one in KK. We then headed to The Hills, another shopping mall that just opened. There wasn't many stores open yet so we just walked around for awhile. And then, we walked along Waterfront and took pictures before heading to Medan Pelita for movie. We managed to go to the Chinese Museum for awhile too. We watched Detective Dee. Nice Cantonese movie though.

5th Oct-We shopped at Indian Street before we went to Ya Da Street for brunch. We had Suhoon Soup and Pork Satays. The satays were very nice. Then, we went to the Sarawak Craft Centre and Textile Museum. After that, we captured some pictures of The Square Tower and the beautiful buildings at the opposite side of Waterfront. At night, Chung brought us for western food at Westwood. The foods were cheap and yummy. Then, Chung brought us to Boulevard where we saw a very huge teddy bear. And the playground in the building was awesome. Only RM1 for each kid. WONDERLAND~! After Boulevard, Chung brought us to Isabella's Cafe. It was a very very nice cafe. The concept of the cafe is cozy and homey style of dining. So suitable for hanging out with friends and family.

6th Oct-It was raining heavily at Kuching. Kinda spoiled our day. After having brunch, we decided just to stay in the room and watch downloaded movies that I have. At evening, we felt hungry and walked about 10 minutes to grab some burgers at McD.  At night, we went to TopSpot for dinner and then to Riverside for Alpha and Omega. What a nice movie!

7th Oct-Don't know where else to go, we decided to watch Magika since there are no more exciting movies to watch. After movie, we then lingered around just to pass the time. At night, Chung brought us to Pasar Petanak for another round of western food. Then, he toured us to South City to see another side of Kuching. We were a bit lost due to the confusing roads. After that, another makan trip at Jalan Song food court. I had pork burger for the first time ever.

8th Oct-After checked out, we had brunch then we went to watch movie again. This time, Jangan Pandang Belakang Congkak. After the movie, we went to Sarawak Plaza for jalan-jalan. Felt hungry and we entered Hartz Chicken Buffet. Paid RM15 per person and we ate all we can! The kind-hearted Chung then picked us and brought us to 101 food centre for dinner. We had so much food until I felt bloated with those food. Around 8.30pm, we arrived at Kuching International Airport. We wished farewell to Chung and checked in for our flight back to KK.

PS-I had so much fun along my trip at Kuching. The food was great! I weighed myself on the weighing machine and wished to gain at least 1kg during the trip. But then, I DID NOT GAIN OR LOSS ANY. :(
PPS-I've spent quite a lot money but it's all worth it!
PPPS-Wanted to buy Ikan Terubok Masin but can't find any. T____T
PPPPS-I'm going back to Kuching for sure~!
