Charity Is Good

22th March 2011-Big event. Big event for my last semester in ATIC. One of the requirement of Catering Management subject. We were required to organize a catering function.  Instead of doing the profitable catering, our class chose to do charity catering. The Charity Lunch was held at Sabah Cheshire Home (SCH) at Likas with the financial sponsor from Mr. Carlos, the owner of Indah Mewah. 

Around 8.30am, all of the us gathered at Demo 3 to prepare and cook the food which consist of Ayam Masak Merah, Mixed Vegetables, Tofu with Egg Sauce, Fried Noodles, Chicken Wings and Plain Rice. At 11am, after done with all the cooking, we packed the food and load them to the cars and then departed to SCH.

At SCH, we unloaded the foods and do the set up.  About 12.30pm, the lunch was started. We helped to serve the food to the residents. After that, they were entertained with magic show. The residents seemed to enjoy themselves. Then, Mr. Jimmy, who is the sifu of magic performed. He is so friendly and knows how to interact with his audiences. He even gave moral support to the residents by motivating their spirits. Afterwards, a indie singer performed some songs acoustically. 

The event ended with price giving ceremony of the certificate of appreciation to the sponsor, Mr. Carlos. The charity ended around 2.30pm.

PPS-Visiting SCH has made me humble as a human being. Despite their conditions, it is good to spend time once in a while with the residents. All in all, I had fun and most important is the feeling of satisfaction for contributing to the public. Will go back to SCH again, for sure.
